My U Kahle piano cover in the video above started from one feeling: some songs make you want to play louder, but this Worship Saints song makes you want to slow down. The song rests on a simple loop in A major, so the real work is in space, inversions and knowing when to leave a chord alone.

Worship that doesn’t need to prove anything

U Kahle is a worship song with a settled, confident feel. It isn’t pleading or pushing; it simply declares who God is and stays there. On a Sunday it fits the heart of the worship set, after the praise songs have done their job and the room is ready to be still.

The original moves at about 131 BPM, but it never feels hurried, because the chords change slowly. My cover leans even further into that, letting every chord ring.

A major, and a soft sound

A major has three sharps: F♯, C♯ and G♯. Here’s what you need:

  • 1: A (A, C♯, E)
  • 3m: C♯m (C♯, E, G♯)
  • 4: D (D, F♯, A)
  • 5: E (E, G♯, B)
  • 6m: F♯m (F♯, A, C♯)

Choose a warm, mellow piano and keep the reverb gentle. If there’s a pad on the team, ask for something soft and low so the piano can stay clear.

The loop behind the U Kahle piano cover

Here’s the song from our full chord chart for U Kahle.

Verse: 1, 5, 6m, 4. In A that’s A, E, F♯m, D. It’s one of the most common loops in worship, and that’s the point. Everyone can sing over it.

Chorus: 1, 5, 6m, 3m, 4. So A, E, F♯m, C♯m, D. That extra C♯m between the F♯m and the D is the only new thing in the whole song, and it changes the feel. The bass drops from F♯ to C♯, then rises to D, which stretches the chorus by one chord and gives it a sense of reaching.

Space, inversions and one gospel touch

Here’s the thing about a simple loop: the voicing does the talking. These are the ideas I lean on in the cover.

Use inversions to keep the hand still

Root position sounds strong. First inversion moves more smoothly. Second inversion feels lifted. For the verse try A (A, C♯, E), E (G♯, B, E), F♯m (A, C♯, F♯) and D (A, D, F♯). Notice how A stays in the hand through most of it. That shared note is what makes the loop sound calm.

Let the left hand walk

Play roots, but think of them as a line. For a smoother bass in the verse, try E/G♯ instead of E: the bass goes A, G♯, F♯, then up to D. That’s the 5 over its third (a 5/7), and it turns the loop into a gentle descending line.

Leave notes out

Try dropping the third from the 1 for a moment, or holding a chord an extra beat while the singer carries the line. In worship, a chord left to ring can say more than a run.

When the key changes

Because the song is just 1, 5, 6m, 3m and 4, moving it is easy once you think in numbers. In G, the chorus becomes G, D, Em, Bm, C. In B♭, it’s B♭, F, Gm, Dm, E♭.

The U Kahle chart has every key written out, and Gig Mode will transpose on the spot. If you want the theory behind those inversions, Wikipedia’s page on chord inversions is a clear read.

A 15-minute practice plan

  1. Play the verse loop in root position, then with the inversions above. Listen to the difference.
  2. Add the E/G♯ in the left hand until the bass walk feels natural.
  3. Loop the chorus, making the C♯m sound intentional rather than rushed.
  4. Play along with the video above, leaving space wherever I do.
