GrooveLock
GrooveLock is about the thing charts can’t write down: feel. It gives you grooves to play against and shines a light on how tightly you sit in the pocket.
How to use it
- Start the tool (the start press wakes the audio) and pick a groove and tempo.
- Play along on your keyboard — comp, riff, or hold pads — and listen for where you rush or drag.
- Repeat the same figure until it locks; then move the tempo and lock it again.
Pro tips
- Record yourself playing over the groove with your phone — what you feel in the moment and what you hear back are different teachers.
- Rushing is almost always tension: drop your shoulders, breathe on beat one.
