Reharmonization Engine (and the Virtual MD)
The Reharmonization Engine is a three-module suite for making harmony richer.
Module 01 — Modulation Map
Drop in an audio file. The engine analyses it in your browser (the audio never leaves your machine), maps the key regions, and flags the pivot chords where the song changes key.
Module 02 — Substitution Matrix
Select a section of the timeline and generate substitution options from three style libraries, each with a theory explanation of why the swap works.
Module 03 — Virtual MD (live)
The headline act: connect your MIDI keyboard and play any triad or seventh chord. The engine identifies it instantly and returns three advanced reharmonisation options with the exact keys — extended drop-2/quartal colours, an altered passing cell, and an open parallel structure — each previewable with one click. No keyboard handy? Demo chord buttons let you test-drive it.
Pro tip
Use Module 03 in rehearsal prep: play the plain changes from the chart, and bank the voicing options it hands you for the moments that need lift.
