The Studio Tools

MIDI Chord Analyzer

The MIDI Chord Analyzer listens to your keyboard and names what you play in real time — root, quality, extensions — while a full piano visual mirrors your hands.

How to use it

  1. Connect your MIDI keyboard (one click — see the MIDI setup article).
  2. Play. The detected chord updates live as you add or release notes.
  3. Both hands show on the docked keyboard in different colours, so voicing spread is easy to see.

The Progression Log

As you move through changes, the tool logs each chord in order — turn a jam into a written progression without stopping to scribble.

AI feedback on a take

Record a pass, then ask for AI feedback on this take — the Studio Coach reads the actual chords you played, in your key, and gives honest, specific notes.

Pro tips

  • Use it to check your own spelling of altered chords — if you meant 7♯9 and it says 7♭9, your fingers are telling on you.
  • The live keyboard needs a desktop browser; on a phone, the analysis still works with a connected device but the full keyboard view is built for bigger screens.
